Giovanni Maranghi. The mystery of seduction

Giovanni Maranghi uses the ancient technique of encaustic, in which the binder is wax paints (paints dissolved in hot wax and applied to the surface). Art of wax painting, there was more than 2,500 years ago, and was known to the ancient Greeks, Romans and Egyptians.
The path chosen by the artist questions the mystery of seduction. Portraying with irony and pursuing the appearance and behavior, the artist does not describe, but interprets through allusion or metaphor, mood, desires, aspirations, symbols appear in its simplicity and effectively link the world around images. Sinuous contours, uniformity of color take the value of the game.
Giovanni Maranghi was born in 1955 in Lastra Signa, near Florence, where he now lives and works. After graduating from art school in Florence, entered the Faculty of Architecture at the University of Florence and at the same time attended the Academy of Fine Arts. Since the mid-seventies solo exhibitions in Italy and abroad, in the Netherlands, Belgium, USA, Turkey and France.
